Grenouer, A Rainy Day Not Forgotten

“On a Rainy Day” - Grenouer have the ability to write great songs that hit the heart hard. Here they deliver a video to unite with their song, “On a Rainy Day”. I love the song on it’s own. The bass guitar plows through your mind and when the guitars drop they cut so hard that you feel that you have been personally affected. Drum work pummels hard as the emotion the band launches into this song. Vocals sung from the gut sound as if they are born out of an aching heart. As dour words drift across your screen you see beautiful thoughts remembered. Shot as if it was pulled from someones broken memories a life lost is on display. Cold stark nature scenes seem evocative of a life once soft and beautiful now cold and lost. I would highly recommend checking out this video if you are a fan of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal genres or if you are a fan of independent film in the Noir genre. Quite simply Grenouer has done it again.

Grenouer, Past the Point of No Return With a Power Unmatched

“Point of No Return” - The guitars open this track and sound so lonely that you almost wait for autumn leaves to pass by your feet. Grenouer once again deliver an emotional track that not only expresses eloquently how they feel, but also make you think introspectively. Synth percussion sounds propel this song and will dance through your mind like better days remembered. Ghostly vocals muffled seem to echo as if they are your conscience. As the track unfolds traditional acoustic drum work takes over and the track itself opens like a spring blossom of hope. With the weight of a heavy heart the kick and snare almost feel like tears of sorrow hitting the floor like 2 ton bricks. Crystalline like clean guitars sprinkle notes like a cold frost, sharp, clear and poignant. With a growling bass guitar swaying in the background you know that Grenouer haven’t given up yet. Singing from heart they refuse to give up and deliver epic anthemic art song after song. Mellow vocals will drift out of your speakers and seep deep into your soul. With hope for a better day the band cranks it up at the 2:20 mark and they drop the Hard Rock hammer like only Grenouer can. As the soundscape opens for the second half of this song with distorted guitars that ring with a passion power of a mighty lion. As the vocals take flight like an eagle in its peak strength Grenouer show that they have pasted the “Point of No Return” and refuse to give up anytime soon. With tracks like these the good times are just getting started.

Grenouer, Unwanted They Still Hammer Out Platinum Hits

Dropping like a 13 Ton sledgehammer Grenouer hits you over the head with another album. With their own brand of Alternative Metal Grenouer once again hits the ground so hard it cracks. From the eerie opening of “Awake” the guys take you on yet another journey though their spin of aggressive music. The production is top notch overall. The sound on the album has a very open feel while everything feels close in the mix. With tracks like “Unwanted Today” Grenouer lay down a massively thick wall of guitars but also employ textures familiar to Korn’s once known modulated ghostly textures. Guitar work on this effort is just absolutely massive. I don’t even think a wrecking ball could pierce the wall of sound that Grenouer has created. Even when shifting gears on “Something Really Bad” opening guitars chime with suspense and you can almost the impending doom in the air. Alexander Motor and Al Bolo in tandem are a force to be reckoned with. The girth and power in Al’s bass is on full display in “On a Rainy Day” with his special concoction of low-end grind. Alexander’s guitar mastery is fully present on this collection from the delicate acoustic textures that are present in the opening of “Blossoms In the Dust” to the guttural molten Metal found on “Artificial Tears”. Holding them together is Danny D behind the kit. His touch is quite impressive. He can play back in the mix or slam it hard up to the front. With his attack and approach to these songs he definitely belongs known as one of the greats. There is tons of great Hard Rock out there, but what sets Grenouer apart from all the others is Andrey Ind’s vocal approach. Commanding the soundscape from behind the microphone Andrey sings aggressively without sounding like he has a mouth full of marbles, and has the guts to sing melodically like an angel on more mellow moments. Grenouer together create awesome cuts working like a well oiled machine. While so few buy albums anymore, Grenouer has gone out of their way to create a peace of art that is worth buying as a whole. Every single song has massive hooks. The old saying, “Well I don’t like buying albums cause only one or two songs are good” doesn’t apply to this release. Every song could stand on its own as a single but together you get an awesome collection that you will not want to put away. I would highly recommend this album to those that like Rock, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal or Alternative Rock. With albums “Unwanted Today” Grenouer has released one that will be hard to ignore or put away once spun.

Grenouer, A Golden Song for the Golden Years

“Golden Years” - With the thundering of drums Grenouer set to take you on yet another journey through their soul and mind. Nothing cuts worse than seeing a friend in pain, but often out of such pain beautiful music is made. With acoustic guitars ringing a mournful tone unrolls in my mind. Though played to perfection you can almost feel the pain and animosity with each string strummed. The trademark growling bass of Grenouer is subdued this go around however it still punches through with potency keeping the song solid as cinder blocks. Vocals from Ind are sung like a beautiful angel mourning the loss of virtue trying to make sense of all that is going on. Overall the production is like every other Grenouer song, 5 star and beautifully done. While lamenting for a time when artists are properly treated and respected for their talents Grenouer refuse to give up and instead make great music. I would recommend this track to anyone that likes Rock/Hard Rock/ Metal Ballads. The video accompanying this song underlines how many artists feel they are being treated like prostitutes for all their hard work and sacrifice. While the “Golden Years” may be over with artists such as Grenouer still producing great music perhaps a renaissance will arise.

Grenouer

Grenouer
“Sands of Silence” - The chiming guitars in this song are quickly replaced by crunching guitars that sound like a 100’ tidal wave of crashing metal. This song just knocks you back in your seat, then off it, on to the floor where you hit your head and blackout in ecstasy. This slow tempo song struts along with awesome sonic textures. The layers of notes and elements ,classic of the Grenouer sound, are all here. The band always cranks out songs that are well produced. I highly recommend this band to anyone that likes hard rock, heavy metal or alt metal. The guys in Grenouer do an excellent job of writing and recording awesome material. The guitar tones are to die for, both guitar and bass are lock tight and form a brick wall of sound. The drums on this track are a bit more laid back but move this song in the right direction. While some drummers might take a song like this as an opportunity to show off, here the playing has just the right “spice” to make this track zing in your ears. The vocals are spot on and as soon as you hear them you know that you are listening to Grenouer. These guys just plain rock. This is the band that you want to tell all your friends about. So take a couple of minutes out of your day and run your hands through the “Sands of Silence” and drift away in this magnificent ballad.
